Web3.js libraries will be archived on March 4th, 2025. ChainSafe will provide migration support and documentation for affected users in the coming days.
For the past three years, ChainSafe has been proud to maintain the Web3.js library for Ethereum developers. Supporting the Ethereum community and promoting open-source development has been a rewarding experience for the entire ChainSafe team.
However, amazing libraries like Viem and Ethere.js are thriving and we believe it’s time to pass the torch.
To responsibly sunset Web3.js, we are enacting a structured support plan to ensure security, successful migration, and continuity for users as they transition to new tooling.
We will provide migration support and documentation for affected users in the coming days. The sunsetting process will take place in phases until the end of March 2025.
Developers transitioning out of Web3.js can reach out to ChainSafe for support via GitHub and Discord. Given our limited resources, support will be provided on a best-effort basis and within reasonable capacity.
